Lagori, also known as Pitthu, is an energetic team game played with a ball and a stack of flat stones. It is popular in India and requires both physical prowess and strategic thinking. The game involves two teams, with one team attempting to knock down a pile of stones using the ball, while the other team tries to catch the ball and hit the opposing players with it.

The game starts with a pile of stones stacked on top of each other. One team takes turns throwing the ball at the stack, aiming to knock down the stones. As the ball is thrown, the opposing team’s objective is to catch the ball before it touches the ground. If the ball is caught successfully, they can then try to hit the opposing team’s players with it. The players who are hit by the ball are considered “out” and have to leave the game.

The defending team can also play an active role by rebuilding the pile of stones while the ball is in play. They can strategically position themselves to shield their teammates from being hit by the ball. The game continues until all players from one team are either hit by the ball or the stone pile is knocked down. Lagori/Pitthu is an exciting and dynamic game that promotes teamwork, coordination, and quick reflexes among its players.
